CLASP Homes Receives $35,000 Grant From Newman's Own Foundation
Celebrating 35 Years of Paul Newman's Commitment
WESTPORT, CT – CLASP Homes has been awarded a $35,000 grant from Newman’s Own Foundation, the independent foundation created by the late actor and philanthropist, Paul Newman.

Newman’s Own Foundation made the award to celebrate 35 years since Paul Newman began the food company bearing his name. CLASP Homes is one of the original recipients of Newman’s generosity.

This funding will help bridge the gap so CLASP can continue to provide the highest quality of services to the men and women it serves.

“CLASP Homes is enormously proud to be chosen to receive this generous grant of $35,000. Mr. Newman’s support of our organization began in 1982, when there were virtually no community services for individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities. During those 3 decades we have been able to add dignity, joy, laughter, friendship and interesting choices to the lives of over 85 people who had previously been marginalized. We are following Mr. Newman’s goal of making the world a better place,” said CLASP President, Tracy Flood.

Newman’s Own Foundation is giving $35,000 to 15 of the nonprofit organizations that were originally funded and have been supported for over three decades. The Foundation continues Paul Newman’s commitment to give all profits and royalties from the sale of Newman’s Own food and beverage products to charity. Since 1982, more than $495 million has been donated to thousands of charities around the world.

CLASP's New Venture!
We can't thank the Drew Friedman Community Arts Center Foundation enough for their generous grant allowing us to create an art program for the men and women of CLASP! Chairman, Nick Visconti and board member, Miggs Burroughs efforts have enabled CLASP to hire fabulous teachers and provide materials. CLASP President, Tracy shared, "Our participants' artwork gives us a glimpse into their world that might have otherwise gone unnoticed." We are so grateful our residents have such a beautiful new outlet!
